I took my first breath in this building 39 years ago (May 20, 1970). Back then, it was a hospital. Today, Groom, Texas is mostly known for the "Tallest Cross in the Western Hemisphere" that stands on the west end of town and the leaning water tower on the east end of town. I'd like to say I put the town on the map, but I'm certain that would be an exaggeration!
