I have fallen in love with the La Plata Mountains of southwest Colorado. The picture above was taken today, May 17, 2008. And, yes, that's still alot of snow atop those peaks. This photo was taken north of Mancos, Colorado, approximately 10 miles west from the closest of the summits. One of the prettiest places in Colorado is La Plata Canyon which runs on the east side of these peaks.The photo below was taken in La Plata Canyon in June 2006. That's Grace and Hannah in the tree!
